Below is a line graph portraying the spread between JUL17WMAZ and MAR17WMAZ (July less March). The spread has seemingly closed over the past two weeks but still seems to drift sideways in volatile swings when viewed over the past couple of months. The July contract is currently priced R764 below its March counterpart. The focus to weather models would increase going forward, and hence affect the spread, as traders look for rains to add soil moisture for next seasons plantings
